Rave Reviews!

Calling all boys, girls, moms, dads, grandpas, grandmas, teachers.  You are all invited to submit a book for review or review one or more of the following books that I have listed on this page.  You can add your own review to a book all ready reviewed on the site.  Tell me who you are, you can use first names and last initials if you'd like or just your initials.  Tell us where you are from.  Also tell us what kind of books that you like to read the most...... fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, biographies, historical fiction, mystery.  Well.....you get the idea.  I'm also including reviews on games, magazines, and music as well.

If you're reviewing a book, please include the book title and author.  Tell us whether you recommend it and if not and why.  Please give a short synopsis or review of the book.  Be sure and tell us what audience, e.g. (kids ages , adults) and age of the person that you think should read the book.

For instance, I love historical fiction.  My name is Candace Jackson and my favorite all time historical fiction book is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.  It's a long, but fast reading historical fiction novel that chronicles a family of cathedral builders building a cathedral in France back in the middle ages.  It has lots of suspense and action.  I recommend it for adults who enjoy historical fiction.  If you like any of my other favorite books you'll probably like this one too.  My other favorites are:  California Gold by John Jakes, DaVinci Code by Dan Brown Angels & Demons by Dan Brown and Shogan by James Clavell.

Here is an example of a review that was done on my book.  It was the forward in my book A Treasure Hunt in My Library:

FORWARD

“A Treasure Hunt in My Library is just the kind of book that can make some children feel comfortable at their public library. It’s a mixture of fun and lots of information, with a treasure hunt at the base for learning all that libraries have to offer. Parents, who themselves do not feel at ease in the library, can learn right along with their children as they hunt for the treasures.”

Susan Roman, Executive Director American Library Association/ Association for Library Services to Children

Here are the 2003 Notable Books for Children that are recommended by the American Library Association.  You can review any one of these or your favorite book.

On this list are just a few of the many wonderful books recommended by the ALA. They also have notable lists for children's recordings, videos, and computer software.  Plus they have archived their notable list from past years.  Great books never go out of style!
